Nike Lead Automation Engineer (Remote Work Option) in Beaverton, Oregon

Open to remote work except in South Dakota, Vermont and West Virginia.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $119,400.00 in our lowest geographic market to $267,500.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will report into the Director of Cloud Security and Automation with the Corporate Information Security team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Lead Automation Engineer as a member of our automation development team. This role will use knowledge of cloud security principles and technologies, CI/CD Pipelines, scripting, API creation and integration, industry best practice, professional experience, collaboration and good judgment to develop creative solutions that help drive consistency and streamline security tools and solutions at Nike. This individual will work with a wide range of technologies, both cutting-edge and legacy, and coordinate with both technical and non-technical business teams. The ideal candidate has a high energy with experience and interest in developing cloud native applications, APIs, and data pipelines. Tenacity, an open and curious mind, and desire to learn and understand is critical for success on this team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.

  • 6+ years of direct experience and comfort with Python and/or Node.js software development, testing, and tooling required

  • Experience and comfort with REST API’s required; experience developing REST and Graph API’s a plus

  • Direct experience with building CD pipelines with toolsets like Jenkins, CircleCI, Artifactory required

  • Ability to understand and craft data warehouse solutions, experience with databricks would be preferred

  • Experience and comfort with OAuth authentication flows and concepts required

  • Direct experience with delivering and managing solutions on AWS required; experience with Azure and/or GCP a plus

  • Direct experience with containers, container runtimes (i.e. Kubernetes), and/or serverless technologies preferred

  • Ability to successfully elicit requirements from appropriate business partners and stakeholders (e.g. functional, performance, technical, compliance)

  • Self-directed and comfortable with working in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and often ambiguous environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Desire to learn and continually improve self and others through knowledge sharing

  • An interest and desire to learn other programming languages as needed

  • Overall passion for technology, with a security-minded approach to problem solving

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be working with the Cloud Security and Automation team and performing these key tasks:

  • Integrate tools and systems via API

  • Conduct workshops with key stakeholders to identify technical automation opportunities

  • Serve as a lead within the team to dig into new technologies and determine feasibility within Nike's environment

  • Provide technical advisory for our North America team in tandem with our other GEO leads

  • Support the migration and adoption of Nike's platform technologies

  • Complete process and workflow orchestration

  • Follow Nike Secure DevOps principals and CI/CD pipelines

  • Leverage cloud technologies and serverless architectures

  • Develop and follow best practices for tools and automation development

  • Architect and automate end-to-end automation processes

  • Define solutions, provide estimates on effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility

  • Perform technical code reviews

  • Technical documentation
