Nike Specialist II, Brand Narrative Streetwear Writer - Global Jordan in Beaverton, Oregon

Jordan Brand’s Global Marketing team sets the brand tone—delivering world-class storytelling that elevates Jordan Brand innovation, athletes, and culture through brand strategy, bold ideas, narrative voice, and art direction—across a range of digital, social, and retail channels.

The Brand Voice team is the heart and soul of Jordan Brand storytelling. As both a strategic and creative function, it is responsible for the brand’s narrative voice—across sport, streetwear and energy fields of play through all consumer-facing touchpoints.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As Narrative Specialist at Jordan Brand, you’re creative, bold, and passionate about the role that language plays in sport, culture, and marketing. You possess strong concepting chops, elite presentation skills, and an expertise in crafting consumer-facing messaging across all platforms and media. You have an entrepreneurial approach, a collaborative and can-do attitude, and a desire to write the playbook as we go!

You are, first and foremost, a writer—a wordsmith, a copy-slinger, a lover of storytelling and all aspects of the written word. You’re adept at crafting messaging that adheres to an established brand voice and working within its confines. You know how to tailor your copy to an audience’s respective vernacular (think: sneakerhead vs. hooper vs. stylist). You can take existing information about athletes and products and spin a story that engages a reader. You obsess spelling, grammar, and sentence construction. You take feedback on the chin. You read your work aloud. You know the rules, and you know when to break them.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Your copy will be read by millions of consumers and athletes the world over, adhering to Jordan Brand’s global Brand Voice standards, in-house style guides, and seasonal directives. Your charge will be to continue the legacy of Jordan Brand’s distinctive brand voice—bold, authentic, colloquial, and clever. You’ll work on seasonal campaign concepts and partner with narrative managers, writers, and art directors on deliverables that span the Jordan Brand ecosystem.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll report to the Global Brand Narrative Director, Jordan Brand, but day-to-day will partner closely with narrative managers, art directors, designers, producers, and marketers. You’ll also work closely with Brand Voice, Brand Design, and Brand Marketing senior leaders. You’ll also collaborate with external creatives and partners to commission work across platforms.

You'll also work very closely with other teams across our marketing organization to ensure your copy answers their brief. For this, you will need to clearly communicate your ideas to various internal and external partners, including senior leadership.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A robust background in Writing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a corporate or agency environment, preferably as a copywriter for a major retailer, e-commerce company or digital communications agency.

  • At least 3 years’ experience writing consumer-facing marketing content, including digital communications (website copy, emails, social media, etc.).

  • Expert command of the English language (including spelling, grammar and punctuation).

  • Proven experience crafting and selling big ideas while also staying focused on specific deliverables and executions.

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes.

  • Genuine interest in digital marketing and the online space.

  • Proven experience collaborating effectively with multiple functions, both within and outside of the creative field.
