Position Summary:
Completes comprehensive patient preoperative health evaluation in collaboration and consultation with the physician.
Uses specialized skills in the care of patients and families where the patient is undergoing operative and other invasive procedures.
Essential Functions:
Manages comprehensive and individualized care through the phase of the patient's medical office
Obtains complete or interval history of patient and identifies patient risk factors in plan of care.
Completes appropriate patient history and physical exams and obtains appropriate laboratory specimens and x-rays.
Make rounds and support physicians plan of care on inpatients as needed.
Reports to: Director of Physician Services
Minimum Education Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
Minimum Education Master's degree Required
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Required Licenses [/West Virginia, United States/] /Other/ Registration required to obtain and maintain current licensure to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse in WV. Successfulcompletion of NP Certification Exam or holds NCCPA Certification and be licensed for Physician Assistant in WV.
