Meet the team (Quote-to-Order Product Management Team in Public Cloud ERP)

The mission of the SAP S/4HANA and Public Cloud ERP Product Management team is to drive and grow SAPs core business as a market leader in cloud ERP. Our team is responsible for defining product scenarios based on market and customer needs and translating them into actionable product requirements for engineering teams.

We work closely with engineering, user experience, product marketing, customers, and partners to continuously enhance the SAP Public Cloud ERP portfolio. Product Management is the authoritative voice of legitimate customer challenges, driving an outcome-based vision and roadmap that solves customer pain points, excites stakeholders, and contributes to the business success of customers and SAP alike.

Our Quote-to-Order product management team empowers customers across industries to streamline their end-to-end quoting, pricing, and configuration processes with scalability, consistency, and automation. The CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solution integrates seamlessly with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, delivering tailored capabilities to meet diverse business needs.

The Role

As a Senior Product Manager in our team, you will play a critical role in leading the vision, strategy, and execution for Quote-to-Order processes. You will take ownership of complex, customer-centric challenges and drive impactful solutions, ensuring that our products deliver exceptional value and align with SAPs business goals.

You will be an individual contributor to the team, contributing to and influencing key responsibilities such as:

Product vision & strategy:

• Define and communicate a clear, outcome-based product vision and strategy that aligns with market needs and company objectives.

• Lead market research and customer engagement to identify innovative opportunities and prioritize areas of investment.

• Develop business case decisions for key product features and ensure alignment with broader product objectives and customer value.

Ownership & problem-solving

• Take ownership of complex problem spaces within the Quote-to-Order process, driving both the definition and execution of solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve product challenges and drive high-quality deliverables.

Continuous product backlog planning & execution:

• Own and manage a product backlog that prioritizes features based on customer needs, technical feasibility, and business objectives.

• Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for backlog items, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap.

• Drive consistency and integration across product areas by collaborating with related product teams.

Cross-functional leadership & collaboration

• Act as a key influencer and leader within a cross-functional team, coordinating Product Engineering, User Experience, and Product Marketing to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Facilitate workshops and regular product planning sessions to ensure alignment across stakeholders.

• Foster collaboration with other product managers to share best practices and ensure cohesive solutions across SAP offerings.

Customer-centric and data-driven decision making

• Champion user-centered design principles to ensure Quote-to-Order processes meet customer needs and solve real-world pain points.

• Utilize data analytics, user feedback, and telemetry insights to measure product success, validate hypotheses, and continuously improve.

• Monitor key product KPIs and prepare recommendations for future product strategies based on data-driven insights.

Role Requirements:

• Ability to quickly learn and build up domain expertise in Quote-to-Order and get a broad and deep understanding of the business processes of our target customers.

• Ability to take ownership of customer problems with moderate and high level of complexity and turn them into product outcomes.

• Competencies and domain background in the areas of Cloud ERP software and SaaS principles is a plus.

• Ability to work independently within given area of responsibility (within defined policies and processes).

• Ability to build collaborative work relationships with similar functions across SAP.

• Ability to communicate in a clear and relevant manner, to craft compelling product messaging and positioning statements to communicate value to internal and external stakeholders.

• Very good teamwork spirit, constructive feedback to colleagues and managers.

Work Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Design, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

• Several years of experience in the software industry, preferably in product management, engineering, or product marketing.

• Proven track record of independently managing complex projects and delivering high-quality results.

• Professional fluency in spoken and written English.
