Squirrel Hill Health Center Front Office Coordinator in Bellevue, Pennsylvania

Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC), a dynamic and growing Federally Qualified Health Center, is hiring a full time Front Office Coordinator in our Bellevue location. The FOC will regularly travel to other offices as scheduled.

The Front Office Coordinator (FOC) will provide the interface between patients and others entering and leaving SHHC, in person or by phone. The Front Office Coordinator provides prompt, courteous, and accurate services in interactions with SHHC patients and others, to ensure the smooth flow of both people and information through the SHHC system. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets patients at the front and checks-in patients for appointments by verifying current contact information and insurance status.

  • Greets patients at side desk for check out process; gathers information to schedule follow up/future appointments.

  • Reconciles end of day cash, credit card receipts and balances to Daily Cash Sheet.

  • Follows SHHC procedures for Medical Assistance Transportation Program, issuing bus passes as appropriate.

  • Retrieves Patient Portal messages and ensures prompt follow-up.

  • Responds promptly to tasks sent by clinical staff.

  • Acts as liaison between patients, care navigators and clinicians, taking and conveying accurate messages and ensuring a smooth flow of necessary information.

  • Works collaboratively with Medical Assistants and the Clinical Team to ensure that SHHC provides the highest quality care for all patients.

  • If fluent in a second language, also provides interpretation services to SHHC patients and staff both on the phone and in person as needed to provide culturally competent care to SHHC patients, at the direction of the Medical Office Supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • All CDC recommended vaccinations, including annual Covid and Flu, required.

  • Knowledge of a second language, preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to deal effectively with the public. 

  • Skilled in using computer, printer, and fax machine.

  • Basic medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge preferred.

  • Must be committed to serving poor and underserved populations.
