Operations Procedure and Program Engineer The Operations Procedure and Program Engineer reports to the USO Support Procedure and Program Lead and is focused on the integrated design of plant systems, structures, and integrated analysis of the facility with a focus on Operations procedure development and program management. In this role, you will act as an Operations Engineer for TerraPower's advanced nuclear reactor projects or other highly technical projects. This operations engineer position requires a high potential individual who will focus on reactor operations related aspects of the reactors currently being developed including Human Factors Engineering (HFE) aspects. The successful candidate will coordinate with engineers working on systems, components, or engineering analysis areas such as safety analysis, thermal analysis, stress analysis, and/or process/control analysis. The Operations Engineer will work as part of a high-performing team of engineers and scientists. Responsibilities Develop and review procedure outlines (SOPs, AOPs, IOPs, EOPs, etc.) to be used to operate the TerraPower Natrium plant. Responsible for coordinating with a geographically diverse design team to develop supporting plant procedures. The team is composed TerraPower employees, subcontracted resources, partner employees, and customers. Develop, maintain, and refine plant level and system level requirement, specification, and strategy documents related to plant operations and maintenance activities over the lifecycle of a nuclear facility Apply Engineering principles, methods, and tools to the design of nuclear and industrial facility and its systems and operations. Develop and implement plant operating strategies and human factors engineering attributes into the plant design. Develop and lead design efforts to evaluate plant integrated control and transient event responses and provide recommendations/optimizations to deliver efficient plant operational strategies to influence design. Support the design of plant Operator interfaces, including the design of the main control room, HMI components, and plant monitoring requirements. Support design reviews and resolution of cross functional technical concerns as a Subject Matter Expert in nuclear operations and maintenance.
