Position summary T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Systems Architecture (Packet Core) located in Bellevue, WA will develop and evolve technical network and service architectures and design strategies to maintain, enhance, and evolve T-Mobile technology portfolio; and create, adapt or revise detailed schematics of network and service architecture, hardware and software selections, and implementation techniques and processes. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform, evaluate, or interpret network simulation, test results, or leading-edge technology studies. Apply technical documentation and presentation skills to translate complex ideas to stakeholders and management team. Evaluate, plan, design, and develop advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into a final product design for projects of the highest complexity and technologies. Drive timeline and vendor roadmaps to ensure that T-Mobile requirements are adequately met and to close any development gaps. Support cross-functional teams throughout the entire life of products, including mobile data services, EPC network platforms (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, DRA, HSS, SMF, UPF, NEF), and IP services including DNS, IP Routers, and load balancers. Evaluate new and existing technology options that support business goals. Lead initiatives for network trials and proof of concepts. Drive to improve designs, processes, and products by reducing cost, establishing and promoting standards-based technology solutions and improving efficiency and quality. Collaborate with product design and business development on technical solution options and write detail network design documents. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Skill requirements: Working with end-to-end flow of GSM/UMTS and LTE and 3GPP standards. Working in mobile EPC core network nodes, including MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, SCEF, IMS, and VOLTE. Using application protocols in mobile packet Core, including NAS, S1AP, S1-U, GTPv1, S11, S5/S8, Diameter, GTPP, S6a, Gx, Gy, and Charging. Working with IP network protocol stacks including TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP. Developing design documents, performing network integration, validating network implementation, and optimizing mobile data networks and services. Coordinating with cross functional teams and vendors and collaborating with stakeholders to create network designs that interface with several 3GPP network functions, scale nationwide, comprising several data centers, and continue to provide service to customers using high availability techniques. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
