We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager who is passionate about leading programs involving state of art big data engineering, business intelligence, and software development.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be leading complex programs for building big data engineering and business intelligence applications. You should have deep expertise and passion in working with complex technology landscape, business domains and customer organization. You should have excellent business acumen and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions/requirements and ability to drive values for business among conflicting priorities. You will provide guidance and support for data engineers and business intelligence engineers with industry best practices and direction. Amazon Web Services (AWS) has culture of data-driven decision-making, and demands timely, accurate, and actionable status reporting.

From technology perspectives, you will have opportunities to (and will be asked to) be exposed to the modern agile cloud-based data technologies. The team is empowered to select the right technology, if necessary, based on customer needs and you will have the full set of AWS services in your toolbox.

Key job responsibilities

• Responsible for the end-to-end project management functions of large programs including planning, risk and issue management, trade-offs and execution.

• Defining project scope, prioritization, managing sprints planning from project initiation till final launches and status reporting to stakeholders. Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.

• Effectively cooperate with customers, technical staff and leaders, business leaders and executives to define and deliver complex features.

• Leading requirement gathering, design/technology selection initiatives, design reviews.

• Empower technical and non-technical, internal customers to drive their own analytics and reporting (self-serve reporting).

• Develop deep understanding of vast data sources and know exactly how, when, and which data to use to solve particular business problems.

• Work with Product Managers, Finance, Service Engineering Teams and Sales Teams on day-to-day basis to support their new analytics requirements.

• Manage numerous requests concurrently and strategically, prioritizing when necessary

• Partner/collaborate across teams/roles to deliver results.

• Mentor other engineers, influence positively team culture, and help grow team.

Utility Computing (UC)

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

• 3+ years of software development experience

• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

• Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
