Job Description Summary
The Gas Turbine Performance Testing Engineer will be executing highly technical services primarily on various gas turbine frames including Steam Turbine/Combined Cycle configurations depending on business needs. The successful execution of these global services will require that you adhere to internal processes while being open to the challenges that may arise. Our engineers are accountable for the quality our customers feel when purchasing our services. Areas of customer quality include accurate/timely documentation, appropriate/timely installation of instrumentation, accurate collection of field data, accurate inspections and recommendations, various site activities, and communications.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Review commercial guarantees, test expectations/requirements, and develop performance test procedures
Prepare, plan, and execute thermal performance tests on gas turbines
Analyze data, calculate test results, diagnose, and evaluate testing issues and develop corrective actions as needed
Prepare test reports for internal and external distribution
Provide service recommendations for the restoration of gas turbine components to optimal conditions
Communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers regarding audit/testing activities, schedules, technical issues, and test results
Support continued development and improvement of performance tools/processes
Identify and report in-field sales opportunities
Support new service development initiatives including IP to enable energy transition
Thorough understanding of ASME PTC codes (PTC 22, PTC 6, PTC 46 and PTC 19)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of two years of gas turbine/steam turbine/combined cycle maintenance/testing/operations/design/thermal performance experience
Working experience with MS Office and Excel based tools. Proficient in the use of computers and PC software
Desired Characteristics
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Understanding of gas turbine/steam turbine/combined cycle thermodynamics, performance, and operations
Highly energized self-starter who can work independently
Fluent in the English language. Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to business leaders and customers
Proficient in the use of thermal modeling tools (GateCycle, Ebsilon, Thermoflow, and so on)
Familiarity with the latest gas/steam turbine repair/maintenance techniques
Experience working with customers
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Desire for continual improvement and skills development
Desire to bring forward creative new ideas to help shape future growth opportunities

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
The position requires minimum 60% travel in few days/week intervals to destinations around the world. This is an estimate only - travel requirements might vary with peak outage seasons seeing higher percentages.
