Google Senior Business Analyst, Google Play in Bengaluru, India
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in statistical problem-solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or related coding language (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).
8 years of experience turning data into a narrative with visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, tables) and presenting to Human Resource (HR) professionals and executives.
8 years of experience interacting with and manipulating data using tools such as SQL, R, or other statistical languages.
8 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
Preferred qualifications:
8 years of experience in scripting, statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, SAS), developing and managing metrics, and evaluating programs/products.
8 years of experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
8 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.
Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.
In this role, you will work on data science projects to drive product decisions for Google Play. You will work in the product development lifecycle and guide partners from project ideation to experimentation, and help analyze to set strategy for the wider area to work on. You will partner with executive leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. You will help Engineers, Program Managers, User Experience Researchers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to build amazing products that help Google's users, and then get those products to the customers.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. Identify and structure business problems and communicate issues and opportunities.
Produce insights and metrics for various technical and business stakeholders.
Deliver presentations of findings and recommendations, creating a visual display of quantitative information.
Create scalable data pipelines and models by following engineering best practices.
Engage and influence executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners, Obtain buy-in for potential solutions, adapt messaging and suggested recommendations.
