Oracle Senior Software Developer in BENGALURU, India
Job Description
As a member of the DB Cloud Team, you will gain in-depth experience of various database cloud service offerings such as Autonomous Database Shared and Dedicated, Oracle Multicloud on Azure and GCP, Exadata Cloud Service, Exadata Cloud Machine, Database Bare Metal Cloud Service, as well as Oracle database features such as multitenant, Data Guard, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, JSON, data vault, auditing, and encryption. You will work with highly motivated and enthusiastic engineers who have in-depth database administration and data center-level end-to-end work flow experience and develop test frameworks and tools to test Oracle Database Cloud from all aspects: provisioning, migration, life cycle management, networking, and security. You will also get the opportunity to have customer interaction and engagement.
As Database Cloud Service is our fastest-growing business and has the highest potential to become the biggest revenue generator for Oracle, you will have the opportunity to work on highly visible key projects and directly interact with upper management. As you also work with global team members around the world and do project management, you will have a very good opportunity to grow into management roles. For a complex and extremely widely used product like Oracle Database, it is a serious but fun-filled challenge to foresee customer expectations, simulate real life problems, develop tests, test infrastructure/frameworks to ensure that customers get the highest quality database.
At the Database Test Development group, head quartered at the U.S. (and expanding in Bangalore), engineers from top-tier schools are facing this challenge every day.
B.Tech/M.Tech C.S. from a premier institution
Candidates with good relational database fundamentals.
Candidates with Compute/Storage/Network knowledge are desirable
Experience with cloud technologies (OCI/AWS/Azure/GCP) is desirable
Experience with Oracle or any high-end relational databases as an application developer (server side) is desirable
At least 3-4 years of working experience on Linux/Unix based systems (Solaris / HPUX / AIX)
Programming experience with languages like C / JAVA ,Python, SQL and PL/SQL.
Good experience in Perl, Shell or a similar scripting language.
Experience as an Oracle DBA is desirable
Experience/Exposure to product testing
Exposure to the latest 19c/23ai Oracle database features is desirable
Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies; adeptness at seeking solutions to complex problems.
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in the area of specialization. Leading contributors individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 3+ years of software engineering or related experience.
