Job Description
As a member of the SHARP-VLDB organization, this role is of an Oracle Applications DBA with requirements is to perform basic business administration of complex framework of module related to applications like Oracle SaaS, Oracle Middleware, Oracle Financials, Oracle eBusiness Suite and must have a fundamental understanding of the business processes. Your mission is to be an integral part of this organization to provide testing and certification for Oracle SaaS's business-critical workloads. Work closely with other team members with a shared full stack ownership of such Oracle apps test framework of modules. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services and simulate this on test environments. Implement the latest Oracle technology products on cloud infrastructure for various Oracle E-business suite in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Responsible for the extensive testing, automation of test cases and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance before the product is released/uptaken by customers. Partner with development teams by reporting bugs, defining and implementing improvements in product. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. the customer engagement from validating workloads through to successful implementation

Database Server Group in Product Development Organization is the crown jewel of Oracle Corporation, creating World’s best Database Software technology used by hundreds of thousands of Enterprise, SMB and Cloud customers worldwide.
The SHARP-VLDB team (Scalability, High Availability, Reliability, Performance) within the Database Server Product Development division is a well-respected, highly sought after group with a long track record of success. The group focuses on improving Scalability, High availability, Reliability and performance of Oracle Database Server products by Designing, Developing and carrying out Stress, Integration, System and Performance tests, which simulate complex real-world scenarios on Very Large DBs (VLDB). The team discovers critical product defects and works closely with development groups to resolve them resulting in the highest quality of products before they get released to customers (Cloud and On-Premises).
With over 200 dedicated Product Engineers distributed across the globe and working on a single mission, our group has been extremely instrumental in delivering highest quality Oracle Server products during every major release cycle.

Responsibilities
Detailed Responsibilities
Testing and certifications of various Database products.
Extensive testing of various database features and functionality to Discover issues and log quality product bugs.
Upgrade tests Oracle EBS implementations in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Implement the latest Oracle technology products in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Certify these technologies before they get released to customers. Conduct repeated database Patching and Upgrades to latest 19c RU, 21c, 23ai and future releases for various Oracle SaaS product databases.
Develop automation Testing Services and guarantee error-free repetitive testing for Oracle SaaS for patching of Oracle EBS on ExaCS, exadata on premise.
Execute the developed Test Suites on Cluster/Grids to discover product defects and architectural limitations by exposing defects, identifying regressions, and verifying resolutions
Design & Develop Highly Automated Multi-Tier/Multi-Stack System/Stress Test Suites/Workloads for Testing and Certifications.
Develop test cases and configs to simulate Oracle SaaS's business critical workload and usage scenarios.
Develop and integrate various critical SaaS's operations into test cases to simulate in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Develop and Maintain Test Specs/Plans/Methodologies and then Design, and Implement End-to-End Test Suites/Frameworks simulating Real-world production systems.
Extensive upgrade and Patching testing simulating production like load.
Research and Development
Reviewing production issues and identifying gaps in the test suite and implementing these as test cases.
This may include DB Schema Design/Normalisation, Data generation, Load generation and Application/Business Logic programming in Oracle SQL, PL-SQL, Perl/Shell/Python and JDBC/JMS or Python.
Review New Functionality/Features in NextGen Oracle Database releases.
Disaster Recovery Planning, testing, executions and writing best practises for Oracle SaaS service operations.
Performance Tuning and pro-active measurements of future planning.
Log and track product defects (bugs), Collaborating closely with Development teams to resolve problems encountered in these Multi-tier test simulations.
Develop Automation tools, Simulation Apps and Re-usable Framework for efficient System/Stress Testing.
Participate in Product Feature Review, Certification experiments and User Document reviews
Technical qualifications
Experienced in multi node Oracle middleware product deployments.
Demonstrable experience of interpreting the requirements and configure the Oracle Financials applications to support requirements and business processes
Expert Oracle Design/Development/Principal DBAs with DBA Full-Life cycle experience ranging from 6-14 years.
Strong Linux/UNIX OS understanding including OS Architecture & Internals (Networking, File Systems, Process/Memory Monitoring/Tuning/Linux Virtualization etc).
Programming/Scripting skills in one or more of below languages is required.
Scripting - Perl or Shell or Python and/or Microservices/REST APIs
Programming - Oracle SQL, PL/SQL or Java/JDBC or Python
Production operational experience for the applications like EBS, Fusion Applications and oracle Middleware and Identity and Access Management products, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Identifying the root cause of issues in the middleware, jdbc and Oracle database
DB performance analysis through AWR, ADDM and other reports/analysis
Good Knowledge of RDBMS/Oracle DB Architecture, Configuring & Testing Oracle 19c Features.
Database backup and recovery techniques.
Responsible for the delivery of the agreed Scope of workload implementation
Oracle DB/SQL/Application Performance Monitoring/Tuning/Troubleshooting skills-sets, Logical/Physical Design and Workload Design /development is preferred.
Experience with Oracle DB Enterprise features like Multi-tenant DB (CDB/PDB), Oracle AQ JMS, Oracle Net Services/CMAN
B.E, M.E./MS in CS/ECE/EE, MCA from Reputed Engineering Colleges preferred.
