Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Benicia, California

Description

Our client based in Benecia, California is seeking an HR Assistant for their service industry team. This role will provide administrative support to a dynamic HR department, with duties ranging from managing employee records to coordinating HR training sessions. This is a contract employment opportunity, ideal for individuals with a strong background in human resources or related fields.

HR Assistant Responsibilities:

• Conduct administrative tasks such as answering calls, scheduling, maintaining files, and sorting mail for the Human Resources department on a daily basis.

• Review and update I-9 files monthly.

• Administer HR training sessions to educate employees about company policies and procedures.

• Conduct exit interviews for departing employees and track/communicate feedback to management.

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and user guides for HR processes.

• Track performance review due dates for new hires, ensuring timely feedback and evaluation.

• Manage employee files, including scanning and filing documents as needed.

• Create official letters, announcement emails, and other correspondence as needed.

• Respond to employee inquiries promptly and professionally.

• Assist in the creation of a monthly newsletter for the HR department.

• Maintain accurate records of new hires, terminations, and other employee changes.

• Use HRIS - Human Resources Info Systems for managing and reporting HR data.

• Ensure compliance with I-9 requirements and other legal standards.

Skills:

• Experience with I-9 Compliance

• Familiarity with Employee Training and New Hire Orientations

• Proficiency in HRIS - Human Resources Info Systems

• Ability to generate HRIS reports

• Effective communication and administrative skills

Strong MS Excel skills are required for this position.

• Familiarity with HRIS - Human Resources Information Systems is required

• Competence in HRIS reporting and data analysis is essential

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information

• Proactive approach to problem-solving

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
