Position : Senior Human Resources Generalist

Classification : Exempt

Reports to : Human Resources Manager

Date : May 31st, 2024

$300 Sign-on Bonus After Completion of the 90-day Probationary Period

The Sr. Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level in some or all the following functional areas: benefits administration, HRIS and HR reporting, employee relations, performance management, employment law compliance, and policy implementation.

Essential Functions

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to payroll, compensation, benefit and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

  • Maintains human resource information system records; compiles reports from the database and distributes as needed.

  • Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefits programs by regularly generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise. Resolve employee complaints related to health and welfare plans, refer difficult or very complex complaints to the manager as needed.

  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election processes.

  • Act as a resource for payroll/HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefits and HR policies and regulations. Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.

  • Prepare government reports related to EEO compliance or other HR functions.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Conduct new-employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to promote employee recognition and appreciation; Collaborate with leadership to increase employee engagement using an efficient and high-touch experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

  • Assist the Human Resources Manager with employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.

  • Other projects and or duties as assigned. Keep office announcement boards up to date; Manage company wide events.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and

    arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm.

    Travel

    Travel will be required between multiple office buildings.

    Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field and two to four years of experience in a human resource generalist role.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is a plus.

  • Must have intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and knowledge of Google‐based programs such as google sheets/Docs.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Advanced coursework in human resources; and /or Previous HR experience. Experience with ADP Workforce Now. Knowledge of HR compliance with state/federal/local laws is a plus.

    Work Authorization

    Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
