Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Your main tasks:

  • Organize and handle all forms of tool maintenances at our EMEA supplier base in a technical and commercialway

  • Support the Tooling Commodity in sourcing of new tools, replacements and duplications

  • Manage the tool repair business overview

  • Analyse the supplier maintenance request and focus on repair spend

  • Conduct Supplier Negotiations on the matter

  • Understand the internal and external customer requirements and deploy the actions for the requirements withinthe organization and with the suppliers

  • Cost calculation for repairs, overhauls and new tools

  • Provide technical input on the regular supplier maintenance request review meetings

  • Remote and on-site tooling and molding problem-solving with suppliers and internal functions

  • Support of NPI and transfer team

  • Collaborate with the supplier quality and development team to avoid complaints and maintain the repair budgetincl. checks for alternative solutions respecting the forecasts etc.

Your profile:

  • Mechanical engineer (preferably but not a must)

  • At least min of 2 years of experience in techical procuement

  • English language is a must, any other language is an advantage

  • Experience in the Automotive Industry is a plus

  • Negotiation skills

  • Strong Tooling knowledge, especially Molding

  • Molding or Stamping process experience is a plus

  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude

  • Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft Offi ce, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; Creo (or anytool design software)
