Emerson Principal Embedded Software Developer in BERGEN, Norway
We are looking for a Principal Embedded Software Developer. The position will lead a small team of SW engineers developing world class multiphase measurement instruments.
The focus of this position is software development of embedded systems using C++ on a Linux platform. Working in a structured requirement driven engineering process.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Team lead and mentor
Take ownership of development objectives and drive development through all phases.
Collaborate with other functions in product definition and requirement specification processes (FRS and system level).
Lead the creation, maintenance, and documentation of software requirement specifications and source code.
Oversee the design, development, and testing of software modules and systems, supporting both software and hardware testing.
Mentor and guide team members on general work practices and specific technical topics.
Actively contribute to process and quality improvements.

For This Role, You Will Need:
University level / college degree in IT, programming, electronics or relevant field. Lack of formal education may be compensated with proven experience.
Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience
Deep knowledge on more than one of the following:
Embedded C / C++ programming and Python scripting
Embedded web pages / servers
Linux OS development
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Understanding of physics, electronics, mathematics
Agile work practices
Linux development experience
Knowledge of the oil and gas industry
Secure coding and security best practices
