Maintenance Planner
Plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance, repair, and calibration activities on site to ensure maintenance is performed in a safe, reliable and efficient manner in compliance with standard operating procedures. Improve work force productivity and quality through planning, scheduling and coordination of maintenance resources, parts,
materials, equipment, and suppliers.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Maintenance Planner, are to:
Job Planning: Research, identify, scope, and estimate materials,parts, labor, tools, equipment and external suppliers for maintenancetask instructions. Update SAP maintenance plans with job plans.
Spare Parts: Ensure parts are available for maintenance plans,unplanned repairs and plant shutdowns through coordination withMaintenance Spare Parts group. Create part requisitions as required formaintenance plans. Update SAP BOM and Component list with revisions.
Shutdown Scheduling: Develop, coordinate and execute plantmaintenance shutdown schedules with MS Project using Gantt charts,critical path analysis and resource leveling. Update and scheduleprogress during shutdowns, identifying critical path impacts, delays,acceleration, and compression. Communicate schedule progress atshutdown meetings with tracking schedule.
Resource Planning: Schedule, and coordinate maintenance work forall maintenance crafts including electricians, mechanics,instrumentation, HVAC, painting and carpentry as well as externalvendors. Attend weekly resource leveling meeting to coordinateresources for planned work.
Ensure safety considerations are given top priority in work orderplanning. Define safe work procedures, best practices, PPE, tools, andequipment for preventative maintenance.
Partner with Maintenance Operations, Technical System Owners, andProduction to plan and schedule preventative, corrective and calibrationmaintenance work orders;
Hold weekly planning/scheduling meetings with MaintenanceOperations, Technical System Owners and Production Managers to determineshort and long term priorities as well as routine maintenance andrepairs.
Ensure complete and accurate records within SAP for parts, laborand maintenance plans. Update maintenance plans with actual labor tocontinuously improve estimated resourced tasks.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree and work experience (or Military Equivalent)
Certification in a planning / scheduling field; PMI-SP, AACE-CST, AACE-PSP, IFMA-CFM, IFMA-FMP 4+ years maintenance planning and scheduling;
Expert knowledge of maintenance, calibration and repairprocedures, pharmaceutical plant operations, equipment schematics,manuals, procedures, process and instrumentation diagrams to develop jobplans and schedule plant shutdowns
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Documented knowledge of cGMP’s, ISO Standards and industry bestpractices
Proficient: MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Powerpoint.
Expert: MS Project and SAP.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technicalinformation effectively.
The position requires working independently and therefore must beself-motivated and self-directed.
Technical Knowledge: Must have significant breadth of bio-pharmaceutical drug substance and drug product manufacturing,engineering, safety, equipment, tools, labor resources, spare parts,quality systems, maintenance methodology, and critical path scheduling.
Significant depth and specialized techniques for, planning, coordinatingcritical path schedules and maintenance job plans in MS Project and SAP.
Human Relations: Must have high level of active person-to-personinterpersonal, presentation and meeting control skills required.
Accountability: Must be able to act independently to selectingmeans, methods and techniques for maintenance plans and schedules.
Sophisticated schedule decisions required for correct shutdownsequencing with influence on entire plant shutdown.
Preferred Experience:
- Associates Degree and 8+ years’ Work Experience (or MilitaryEquiva lent) Bachelor’s Degree 6+ years’ Work Experienceor an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $91,000-$125,000 to Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
