Description
Robert Half is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Sr. Network Engineer with advanced knowledge of Cisco products, VPN’s, Network Security and Network Switches for our client out of Berkeley, Ca. The Sr. Network Engineer will be stationed out of an office in Berkeley, Ca, and they will be installing, upgrading and configuring Cisco Networks at various sites in the area. While the detailed work at each site will vary, it will include installation of a new firewalls, server work, and an overall health/security checks. The Network Engineer should have a current CCNA. The Sr. Network Engineer will be doing network design, resource and capacity planning, hardware configuration and installation, network operating systems installs, dealing with connectivity issues related to the initial installation of hubs and routers, troubleshooting existing network architecture, such as monitoring network traffic and resolving bottlenecks in the system, and implementing security protocols. This Network Engineer role is a contract to hire opportunity.
Maintain a secure transfer of data to a variety of locations via internal and external networks
Initiate and implement network test facilities
Develop enterprise data, voice, and video networks through the use of traditional and creative methods
Collaborate closely with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on implementing, optimizing, and consistently managing of networks
Deliver high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology like hardware, hubs, bridges and routers
Advanced-Cisco Products, Advanced-VPN - Virtual Private Network, Advanced-Layer 3 Switches, Advanced-MS Windows Server 2018

Requirements
6-8 years’ experience installing, maintaining and modifying HP / Cisco / Dell switch configurations and VLANs.
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Cisco routers and firewalls.
Installing & maintaining Cisco and other various types of wireless networks.
LAN, WAN and Network design and consulting on single and multi-server environments and multi-site environments.
Must be competent and experienced in VPN, NATTING, and remote access
Troubleshoot server hardware, software, and networking and routing problems.
Assembling, configuring, installing and maintaining HP, IBM and Dell Server & Desktop equipment.
VPN Setup and configuration of site-to-site and client-to-site VPN with at least 3-4 years' experience in routing, switching and wireless.
CCNA Required and CCNP Preferred.
