Kanaan Communications, LLC Fiber Splicer in Bessemer, Alabama

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and splice fiber optic cables with precision and accuracy.

  • Operate technical equipment, including OTDRs and fusion splicers, to test and troubleshoot issues.

  • Interpret and analyze fiber matrices and related data to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Work in a variety of settings, including aerial lifts, confined spaces, and outdoor environments.

  • Complete daily reports and documentation for completed projects.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in compliance with safety standards.

    Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with fiber optic cables, splice enclosures, and telecommunications networks.

  • Experience with hand tools, ladders, and construction equipment is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical data with high accuracy.

  • Comfort working in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, climbing, and confined spaces.

  • A focus on safety and quality in every task.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in fiber splicing or telecom construction (preferred, but not required).

  • Proficiency with telecom equipment such as OTDRs, aerial lifts, and fiber meters.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Please note: this role requires the ability to differentiate between specific color-coded materials accurately
