Clinical Research Nurse Case Manager
Navigate the patient with interdisciplinary care such as Orthopedic Oncology, Musculoskeletal Radiology,
Interventional Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Hematology Oncology
Focus on developing an integrated center of excellence for orthopedic oncology within the center and serve as a liaison for care coordination
Meet with patients and families to provide emotional support and guidance following the diagnosis of cancer through end stage disease if necessary
Provide medical information, education, and share knowledge regarding internal and external support services and resources
Responsible for facilitating rapid scheduling, coordination follow-up care, and tracking patients to ensure completion of recommended treatment plan
Identify and assist patients and families in eliminating potential barriers to care by identifying and referring to appropriate resources
Extract demographic, clinical, and laboratory data from DoD electronic and paper clinical data systems
Assist in development, testing, and revision of Project/Investigation Forms (case report forms, data extraction tools, etc.)
Assist with generation of missing data elements summary
Communicate with data sources to request and obtain missing data elements
Receive, process, file, and incorporate into investigation database missing elements
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical research experience required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Active Maryland RN License , CCRC or CCRP preferred
Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing research tasks
Research and or Public Health experience highly desirable
Familiarity with VA/DoD Healthcare and health information systems
