The Human Resources Manager is an integral part of our Human Resources team. The HR Manager is a skilled and detail-oriented project manager with strong organizational skills and a passion to utilize technology to support HR-related processes. The ideal candidate maintains current and up to date knowledge on the ever-changing employment law landscape and takes immediate action when necessary, and has experience in a breadth of HR functional areas.
Works with HR and Legal teams to ensure employee handbook remains up to date, including various state specific supplements to the handbook. Ensures proper documentation and tracking of handbook distributions
Responsible for maintaining OSHA 300 log; completes and distributes OSHA 300A annually
Interacts closely with HR team, Legal department and external parties to ensure that HR policies and processes are in compliance with applicable employment/labor laws
Assists with employee relations needs in partnership with Managing Vice President, HR. This includes working with employees and management to address concerns, conducting investigations, reviewing disciplinary documentation, etc
Serves as the subject matter expert for the workers’ compensation program in alignment with and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership, the Legal department, and the workers’ compensation provider
Ensures that the workers’ compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers’ compensation laws
Manages all administrative aspects of workers’ compensation claims to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with HR and Payroll to ensure that pay for associates is accurate
Coordinates all aspects of return to work for those on leave, including any accommodations
Acts as point person for FMLA, STD, Maternity/Parental Leave administration with vendor, including overseeing DC Paid leave; works with Sr. AA on leave dates for timesheet purposes
Completes regulatory reports as needed in partnership with HR and Payroll
Runs the 401k testing and audit with outside consultant and provider
Tests readiness for annual processes (performance management, benefits open enrollment, etc.) as needed
Periodically runs and analyzes Excel reports via HRIS and other systems
Assists with equity plan administration including plan sponsor website, dividends, and redemptions
Supports year-end compensation work
Completes special projects as requested
Bachelor's Degree is required, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years in a Human Resources role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while working independently
Must have working knowledge of state and federal employment/labor laws and statutes, including but not limited to OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and other DOL regulations
Workers’ compensation experience preferred
Ability to partner with internal HR team members, business leaders, and in-house counsel to drive compliance and HR-related projects forward.
Keen attention to detail
Proficient in Excel
UltiPro experience strongly preferred
