This is a contingent position based upon contract award

KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team supporting a government client in Maryland. Applicant will be responsible for supporting the high-risk, high-payoff research mission of the government client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements in response to new priorities, emerging challenges or scientific breakthroughs

  • Investigate groundbreaking Federal and commercial technology for its applicability to intelligence capabilities, such as forecasting, data analysis, cybersecurity, and data collection

  • Develop Assessment documents that identify security, counter-intelligence, and protection requirements

  • Conduct Performer Vulnerability Assessments to include level of foreign ownership/influence, business activities, and financial concerns

  • Present assessments to Government lead / decision body

  • Maintain database of all technologies investigated

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A CURRENT and ACTIVE TOP SECRET / SCI federal security clearance with Polygraph

  • Seven (7) years or more of relevant experience in the IC or DoD

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related field

  • Ability to clearly articulate requirements definitions and their dispositions to senior executive government leadership

  • Experience interacting with Senior leaders and R&D program managers

  • Knowledge of information system security requirements and procedures

Desired:

  • Direct experience with technology R&D and emerging technology analysis, to include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

  • Experience across the program life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, and sustainment)

  • Experience with IC and Federal laws on data usage and retention

  • Ability to identify key technical risk areas and translate into program impacts

  • Experience as a technical writer

Basic Compensation:

$116,000 - $174,900

This range is for the Maryland area only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
