Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals are invested in your career. Through the Clinical Associate (Nursing Assistant) In-House Training program, you will have the opportunity to attend 4 weeks of paid education to prepare you to work as a Clinical Associate on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit at our hospitals. During training, you will be paid at the Clinical Associate hourly rate. The program will take place under the direction of a Clinical Nurse Educator, allowing you to learn the essential functions and behaviors to provide patient care support on an inpatient nursing unit. You will have the opportunity to build a new skill set and assume a direct patient care support role at the hospital.

Application Process: Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the hiring nurse manager who is responsible for the hiring decision. Schedules and shifts will be determined during the interview process prior to the start of training. Upon successful completion of the program, you will begin working as a Clinical Associate on the unit. As a Beverly & Addison Gilbert Hospitals employee you will have no expenses incurred for this training opportunity - we are covering the cost!

Position Summary:

The Patient Care Technician will provide basic care activities and provide personal needs, comfort and safety of your patient. The Patient Care Technician assists with the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility will be focus on performing technical, therapeutic, administrative tasks and procedures for which they have been trained. The Patient Care Technician must demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a patient care team as a multi-skilled caregiver responsible for quality of own work and remain flexible in response to change.

Examples of tasks to be completed

  • Vital Signs

  • Height and Weight

  • Oxygen Saturation

  • Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse

  • Collecting various specimens for analysis

  • Recording and measuring intake and output

  • Providing patient with personal care and assisting with daily activities

  • Performing basic clinical procedures independently or under the supervision of the RN

  • Provide nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding.
