The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in theDepartment of Pediatricsat theUniversity of Utah School of Medicinehas an immediate opening for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. Clinical activities are based atSt. Vincent’s Hospitalin Billings, Montana and include outpatient and inpatient care for pediatric gastroenterology patients including performance of endoscopic procedures and biopsies. Outreach to regional locations in Central Montana, Eastern Montana, and Northern Wyoming is expected, with chartered air travel for distances over 150 miles. Will share on-call responsibilities.
St. Vincent’s Hospital is a 286-bed hospital with 19 pediatric inpatient beds, 5 pediatric ICU beds, 20 beds in a level III newborn ICU , pediatric endoscopic services with pediatric anesthesia, and pediatric sub-specialty services including cardiology, pediatric surgery, neurology, endocrinology, neonatology, rheumatology, nephrology, and intensive care medicine. St. Vincent’s Hospital is part of the Intermountain Health network, a not-for-profit health system with locations in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Montana. Intermountain Health operates Primary Children’s Hospital, a 289-bed children’s hospital in Salt Lake City and the new Lehi-Miller Campus, a 66 bed children’s hospital located in Lehi, Utah. A new St. Vincent’s hospital is expected to break ground within a year.
The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition currently has 15 physicians, four advanced practice nurse clinicians, 6 registered nurses, and 3Pediatric GI fellows. The Division has all pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition clinical services represented with the exception of small bowel transplantation. The liver transplant program has performed >300 liver transplants since its inception. The program is one of the only centers in the country with a pediatric ERCP /advanced endoscopy program. Additional programs include fully equipped and staffed endoscopy suites, a gastrointestinal Motility Disorders Center, a multidisciplinary IBD program with close collaboration with an IBD surgery program, close collaboration with theCystic Fibrosis Center, Food Allergy and Eosinophilic Disorders Clinic, theEsophageal and Airway Treatment Center, aFeeding and Swallowing Center, a comprehensive nutrition center, an Aerodigestive Clinic, a Home Enteral Feeding Transitions program (post- NICU ), and a multidisciplinaryColorectal Center.
The successful candidate must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Gastroenterology. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
