The Program Coordinator I will maintain and streamline procedures to support the College and its programs. The Program Coordinator I will have responsibility for overseeing the daily operations and activities of the department and helping with implementation of ongoing plans and projects to support programs within the Department. The successful applicant is expected to support and participate in the University’s commitment to improving retention and graduation rates. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as first point of contact for the department, whether through phone, email or walk-in encounters, creating a comfortable and welcoming office atmosphere. •Answer questions posed by students, faculty, staff and the public, or direct inquiries to those who can answer them. •Provide support to full-time and part-time faculty related to classes, enrollments, and advising. •Assist students registering for classes. •Work with department chair to plan class schedules and submit/make changes to maintain them. • Handle all aspects of electronic payroll submission maintenance and accuracy. •Assist with on-boarding of new employees and separation tasks for retiring or departing faculty. •Monitor and ensure all departmental deadlines are met in a timely manner. •Maintain electronic files of all departmental information, including syllabi. •Maintain accurate and comprehensive academic record keeping. •Deliver mail and packages to and from the mailroom and distribute to recipients. •Maintain departmental supplies and materials. •Responsible for assisting the Chair with the Departmental budget, this includes the University Purchasing Card. •Supervise work study students.
