Cogent Integrated Business Solutions, Inc. has an opening for the position of Technical Project Manager (Ref# TPM1120CJ).
Work Location: Bingham Farms, MI and relocation required to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
Job Duties: Plan, manage, schedule, monitor, and provide technical direction for various IT projects. Scope out the project and resource planning following Agile software development methodologies. Work with the architecture and development teams to come up with the technical design and develop the coding requirements for the projects. Plan and monitor upgrades from an existing version to a later version, with the ability to foresee and effectively handle the issues during the project implementation. Collaborate with product stakeholders on project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, etc. Maintain JIRA projects, workflows, permissions, and users. Conduct related project meetings based on the project model implemented such as Waterfall, Agile iterative, etc. Create and update the project plans in MS Project and/or JIRA. Provide support to the existing applications by resolving tickets raised by the users in a timely manner. Utilize knowledge of project management to perform specialized development of software codes for user-friendly data input screens. Conduct studies pertaining to the development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs. Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress. Conduct project meetings including sprint, retrospection, and backlog grooming sessions. Ensure quality software development and provide documentation to application development staff and customers with result information obtained from the research and development efforts. Use of JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM, Rally, Azure DevOps, MS Visio, MS Project, and MS Office.
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Delivery Manager or related experience. Will accept 3 years of post-secondary education in any field of study plus 3 years of related experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with project management, project planning, Agile, and JIRA. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
