PeopleReady Meter Technician in Binghamton, New York
As a Residential Meter Technician with PeopleReady Skilled Trades you will perform installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of electric metering and equipment.
Note: The pay rate for this job is $35 - $40 / hour
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including wiring, circuit breakers, and fixtures.
Diagnose and repair electrical issues in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standard.
Perform electrical testing and inspections to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including work orders, inspections, and maintenance logs.
Work closely with other trades and team members to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
Communicate effectively with clients to explain electrical issues, provide estimates, and offer solutions.
Stay current with industry advancements and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Diagnose common meter equipment issues.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of meter services, regulations, and operating procedures.
At least 2-5 years residential/commercial electrical experience. Basic mathematics with a focus on flow and metering.
Knowledge of electrical theory and practices.
Ability to work at a high degree of accuracy.
Be able to perform a complete replacement of 100A to 200A electrical service.
Be able to identify meter types such as: A base meter & Fifth jaw.
Be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
