i3 Technology Group Quality Assurance Tech in Binghamton, New York
Quality Assurance Tech - Under the supervision of the Manager, of Operations the key roles primacy responsibility for audit and inspection of in-process and completed work. This position will confirm mechanical and electrical and data compliance of assemblies and subsystems. This technician will join our quality team of engineers and inspectors and work under the guidance of our quality engineers. To worl< closely with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and other quality personnel. To excel in this key role, you must be able communicate clearly. ESSENTAL FUNCTIONS: Performs in-process and finished goods inspections and test operations. Perform process audits to procedures. Work to ensure compliance with process and procedures. Ensure calibrations are up to date on inspection and test equipment. Record and analyze data. Maintain Statistical Process Control charts. Coordinate teams to resolve process and product quality issues. Identify opportunities for improvement. Perform experiments to aid in evaluation of engineering change proposals. Assist in inspection of incoming materials. Maybe called upon to train others to inspect parts. Records data and operation completeness in computer systems. Must follow instructions. Develops inspection steps for new parts. Performs details first article inspection. Must be able to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) references on mechanical drawings. May include other duties as assigned and/or special projects. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Must be excellent written and verbal skills. Must be able to use Microsoft Office. Must maintains and grows skills and capabilities and stays current with technology advances. Must be able to read technical drawings. Understanding of GD&T. Must be willing to learn new skills. Must be detail oriented. Must be comfortable using technology and computers. Must utilize inspection tool including calipers, micrometers, microscopes, and gages to perform dimensional inspection. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Minimum high school diploma. Must have 2 years degree in a quality or math field will be helpful. Must have at least 2 years of experience in quality inspection of electro-mechanical equipment. ASQ certifications will be helpful. Experience using and programming CMM equipment will be helpful. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Will work in a production environment. Will work around equipment that uses x-rays. Must have the ability to stand, stoop, reach, grasp, lift, and use mechanical and electrical test and measurement equipment. Must work with computers to collect, input, and record data. Must be required to lift to 40 lbs, and up to 95 lbs with assistance or equipment. Will be required to visually inspect assemblies and parts. Will be required to ware PPE (typically, protective equipment, including but not limited to safety shoes and safety glasses and gloves). Wilf be required to visual acuity (visual ability to resolve fine detail) and manual dexterity (fine hand and finger movement). WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE: No special clearances required.
