Primary Function\ Diagnose, repair, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and tools used in the manufacturing process. Build, modify and/or adjust tooling or equipment to meet current needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and predictive maintenance as outlined in manufacturer recommendations for various tools and equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, CNC equipment, cranes and hoists, small gas engines, electrical circuitry, various forms of hydraulics, and mechanical functions.
  • Remove from service non-functioning equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, adjust tools/equipment and return to service.
  • Make equipment and repairs, research replacement parts and purchase recommendations to Maintenance Team Lead.
  • Must be a motivated, self-starter able to work with minimal direction or supervision once trained on equipment.
  • Must possess low and high voltage electrical safety knowledge and safe work practices including LOTO, DMM usage to troubleshoot low and high voltage circuits safely.
  • Must be adaptable, and able to switch between tasks as production demands shift to different equipment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience\ Associate\'s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional skills:\ A strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is required. Strong problem-solving skills, substantial interpersonal skills, excellent verbal, and written skills as well as intermediate computer skills are a must. The ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings and a working knowledge of CNC controllers, control circuits and process instrumentation is required.

The job may require climbing of ladders and/or stairs. The employee will often lift heavy pieces of metal, work with arms overhead, torso twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, often for extended periods; the employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include strong visual acuity (with or without correction), color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Long hours (10 or more) are often scheduled, and job may require overtime and tr vel.

*Work Environment:\ *While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, tripping hazards, exposure to sparks, welding arc, and open flame. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, mild industrial chemicals, inclement weather, risk of electrical shock and vibration. It is essential for employees to maintain awareness of their surroundings and when required, wear the necessary PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
