Job Description
We have a very exciting opportunity for a EHS Specialist to join us on our journey of expansion, enabling us to build a strong culture and brand for PCI in Ireland. This role will be primarily based in Dundalk and is ideal for someone looking for their next challenge, see below for further details of the role.
Main purpose of job:
To become a major contributor for the promotion of environmental health and safety across the business and act as an additional subject matter expert for the same. To provide ongoing support and guidance to all teams and ensure that work activities are carried out according to both local and Global EHS requirements. To support and represent the EHS Manager with internal and external stakeholders as the need arises.
Main responsibilities:
• Compliance : Provide accurate and up-to-date professional advice on relevant environmental, health and safety matters to maintain compliance with all applicable legislation
• Regulatory inspections and Audits: Support and potentially host regulatory inspections and other internal/external audits, completing CAPA plans against findings and tracking actions to completion
• Risk mitigation: Complete and/or coordinate the completion of risk assessments and track to completion any corrective/preventative actions thereby identified
• Incident management: Have a deep understanding of the Incident Management process from start (incident notification) to finish (CAPA closure). Utilize root cause analysis to stop reoccurrence
• EHS systems management: Become conversant with the existing EHS systems and contribute to their development, in collaboration with the team
• Consultation: Offer EHS consultation for planned and unplanned changes, be able to influence decisions where impacts to health, safety or environment are foreseen
• Presentation and training: Present content to local, global, and external stakeholders, facilitate routine and non-routine meetings. Organize and deliver training sessions, where qualified to do so
• Tier meetings: Join interdepartmental tier meetings, follow the escalation processes in alignment with the SQDCP, representing the EHS department
• Gembas: Conduct and support regular safety walks, stop dangerous activities immediately, report any other findings and follow-up with corrective and preventative actions
• Safety culture: Contribute to the promotion of a safety culture across all sites and departments, leading by example and following Corporate’s site maturity milestones
• Global Networking: Join the Global EHS Team by taking part to online meetings and activities and/or site visits in other PCI locations globally
Essential requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Health and Safety role
• Holding a recognised qualification in Environmental, Health and Safety
• Educated to NFQ 7 or above
• Computer literate and open to innovation
• Team player - holding a valid driving license and open to travelling across IE sites
Desirable requirements
• Educated to NFQ 7 or above in a science or EHS-related discipline
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry or other similarly regulated environment
• Self-motivated and open to change
