Summary

The Cigna Medicare Growth team is driving growth in our national and local markets. Our environment is fast paced, the work is meaningful and intense, and our performance expectations are high. To continue to meet and surpass those high expectations, we are looking for a highly organized and outstanding learning and performance professional for the role of Medicare Sales Effectiveness Training Manager . This role is responsible for managing, training and improving the performance of our associates and broker partners, through training facilitation, coaching and other related performance improvement techniques. As we expand our footprint and capabilities, this leader will ensure that our facilitators are well-positioned to support fast and sustainable growth across all product lines, in a collaborative and consultative partnership with various business areas in sales and across the enterprise. The Medicare Sales Effectiveness Training Manager will model positive leadership behavior and manage a team of experienced and talented training professionals, who conduct training on all Cigna Medicare product lines, including, but not limited to: Medicare Advantage; Medicare Supplement; Prescription Drug Plans (PDP); Supplemental Health products in addition to tools and technology, selling skills and other soft skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, motivate, and provide guidance to a team of facilitators

  • Develop training delivery strategies

  • Create training materials

  • Create and maintain a training plan and schedules

  • Review and analyze sales data, trends and use results to address training needs and implement actions to close performance gaps

  • Conduct one-on-ones, performance reviews, regular check ins, etc.

  • Communicate training and schedules to Growth leadership and Distribution teams in advance

  • Establish metrics for training program tracking, measurement and evaluation

  • Implement industry best practices

  • Conduct training impact evaluation and share results with all stakeholders

Requirements

  • 3 years or more of experience leading teams in both direct and matrixed environment (people management)

  • 5 years or more of experience in training and development (Medicare or healthcare)

  • Exceptional training facilitation skills

  • Experience conducting training impact evaluations

  • Working knowledge of learning theories

  • Working knowledge of facilitation methods and techniques

  • Experience managing budgets

  • Sales-minded with ability to lead a team effectively through change in a fast-paced environment

  • Working knowledge of Medicare

  • Knowledge of models and methods to evaluate the impact of learning and other talent development solutions using data

  • Ability to coach sales supervisors and managers on methods and approaches for supporting employee performance improvement

  • A keen understanding of current and emerging learning technologies

  • Track record of using data to shape training and demonstrate the impact of training on business goals

  • Ability to work through others to achieve Growth objectives

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Insurance/ healthcare Sales experience is a plus

  • Experience in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and PDP sales is a plus

  • Careful attention to detail

  • Ability to deal with and create change through ambiguity

  • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Partners well with others; proven ability to foster collaboration among team members and across teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive a strategy

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,600 - 161,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
