See what it's like to work at GROWMARK: https://youtu.be/CSVMnKCySsY * PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT* Responsible for identifying new markets, targeting customers, and developing and implementing strategic marketing, sales, and support efforts for unbranded refined fuels and propane. * SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP* Supervises, leads, and develops the Director of Unbranded Business Development and the assigned Energy Account Managers. * ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Provides overall direction to all aspects of unbranded sales and marketing of refined fuels and propane ensuring that department work be completed to maximize customer satisfaction and net operating income for the Energy Division. Provides leadership for the development and implementation of the Energy Division’s unbranded sales and marketing strategies. Effectively communicates and coordinates these marketing strategies and activities with the appropriate business units in order to achieve a unified marketing thrust for energy products, including proprietary products and services. Provides leadership for market expansion strategies. Works closely with Energy Operations in discussions with refiners and suppliers in new and existing markets to develop, administer, and execute supply agreements in targeted markets or geographies and ensure that market expansions are properly integrated with operating capabilities. Develops and implements unbranded sales and marketing strategies that result in sales growth and maximize the gross income of the division. Responsible for customer relationships in unbranded markets. Coordinates activities with Energy Operations, Transportation, and Customer Service areas to ensure excellent customer care. Provides communication and collaborates with Energy Operations on the strategy to maximize utilization of GROWMARK terminal assets to maximize profitability and financial return. Works closely with Energy Operations to ensure that all marketing opportunities are compatible with facility capabilities. Assists in the development of the Energy Division's annual strategic plan and operating budgets. Responsible for the development of the annual selling expense budget for unbranded marketing programs Develops and maintains industry relationships and provides industry knowledge to management and team members. Represents GROWMARK Energy Division at national, regional, and state industry conventions. Maintains compliance with GROWMARK Energy Risk Management Policy. Works in close collaboration with Energy Operations to ensure proper implementation of sales and marketing plans, and that hedging and inventory management strategies are unified to maximize gross income of the division. Provides input and recommendations to Energy Operations regarding unbranded margin levels for daily rack pricing and forward contract sales. Participates in routine market/supply and pricing/margin evaluation discussions. Contributes to credit evaluation and collection efforts led by the Finance Division. * OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS* Prepares special studies and reports as requested. Provides planning information for the Energy Division. Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. * REQUIREMENTS* Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or the equivalent thereof, and ten years or more of energy sales, supply and marketing related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of the petroleum industry and the ability to generate profitable sales for the assigned product lines. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK Energy Division operations including knowledge of energy futures and options markets, petroleum refining, pipeline operations, and product distribution. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport. Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.
