SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY (NRM) Facilities Water Systems Maintenance Tech III in Bloomington, Minnesota

About our group: Seagate MNC is searching for a facilities water systems operations and maintenance technician. The technician operates and maintains industrial wastewater treatment and high purity water production equipment and supports general facilities operations. About the role - you will: Perform work including operation and maintenance of the high purity water (HPW) and wastewater (WW) treatment systems, miscellaneous general work orders, emergency snow removal on sidewalks, and other facility duties as required. Coordinate with lead, management, project managers, engineers, contractors, and other personnel to understand and effectively complete assigned work. Read and interpret meters, gauges, and instruments for required system checks, accurately record results, and bring up issues to management. Understand and respond appropriately to building management system alarms. Operate HPW and WW treatment systems independently for an entire shift. Proactively contribute to other facility requirements when possible. Ensure high-purity water is available for customers and meets the required quality. Ensurewastewater systems meet discharge requirements. Obtain water samples and analyze wastewater with atomic absorption (AA) equipment. Adhere to all environmental and safety rules and regulations. Be a member of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT). About you: Attention to detail and ability to follow processes Knowledge of handling hazardous materials and emergency response protocols Ability to recognize and react to treatment process changes and demands Effective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills to work closely with site management, engineering, staff and others Able to respond to emergency calls, work a 12-hour shift, work occasional overtime, and work occasional holidays as required Your experience includes: Various positions within a water / wastewater treatment environment with knowledge of treatment standards, codes and regulation, methods and principles and practices of operating, maintaining, and repairing water treatment plant equipment, instrumentation, and associated systems Strong understanding of pumps and piping systems, meters, gauges, process instrumentation Knowledge of safe handling and use of chemicals Knowledge of basic chemistry AA degree in a science related field preferred. Location: Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina, and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
