We are seeking a Process Engineer who will contribute to designing our state-of-the-art Biogas and Renewable Natural Gas facilities in the United States.Our projects range from Feasibility deliverables to complex EPC Turnkey efforts. A DAY IN THE LIFE As a key member of our engineering design team, you will be responsible for a full range of activities including: * Learn and understand the highly technical projects and products that Montrose is delivering to our customers. * Assist with the selection, design, and integration of reliable, effective, and safe process technologies that have an impact on the renewable natural gas and anaerobic digestion marketplace. * Prepare process engineering documents including design basis documents, drawings, calculations, process equipment sizing, heat and mass balances, process narrative, equipment & instrument lists, etc. * Understand project scope & process design deliverables and work under the supervision of Senior Process Engineer to plan and execute the design accordingly. * Prepare and check detail drawings, including plot plans, general arrangement drawings, pipe routing drawings, and process & instrumentation diagrams. * Coordinate with all disciplines related to the engineering design effort. * Collaborate with Applications Engineering to prepare conceptual designs, reviewing and selecting different process technologies and systems to meet customer objectives. * Develop site-specific analytical sampling and analysis plans. * Travel to sites to collect and analyze samples to tabulate data for process technology selection. Prepare Tech Memos and Reports to present and evaluate data results. * Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) rocess for start-up and commissioning. * Incorporate lessons learned into process engineering tools. * Work directly with process controls engineers to optimize system instrumentation & controls to ensure appropriate process monitoring and performance. * Ensure procured equipment meets process requirements, specifications, material compatibilities, and discipline requirements. * Assist in development of vendor process acceptance criteria, and travel to factory/project site for factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) validation. * Assist in the development of commissioning and start-up plans for the process engineering discipline. * Participate in startup & commissioning process activities for specific unit operations. * Assist with RFIs and approve engineering submittals during construction. * Review O&M performance data from active operations sites. * Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude. * Travel as needed, domestically and internationally, to support the project team in the delivery of Montrose products to its' customers. Availability to travel 10-25% of the time. NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to satisfactorily perform each duty and responsibility listed in the A Day in the Life section above. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Bachelor's degree or above in an engineering discipline; preferably chemical or process engineering * 3+ years' professional experience in related field. * Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office software, and other Company and discipline specific software applications. * Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. * Good organizational skills, planning skills and self-starter with good work ethic and sense of urgency. * Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. * Ability to work in a global environment and respect other cultures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with AutoCAD and/or Navisworks * Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Bluebeam Studio * Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) license * Analytical/chemistry lab experience in water/wastewater or similar methods The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
