The Product Manager is responsible for supporting the vision, leadership, and product market strategies of the Product Management department in partnership with key stakeholders in the Growth, IT, Student-Partner Services Divisions, and others. The Product Manager is directly responsible for both product development and management of a portfolio of existing and new products and services. The incumbent will work across the product department and across Scholarship America to define and maintain the product roadmap in support of the organization's mission, vision, and strategies. The incumbent will be experienced at gathering important organizational and market data and compiling it into a relevant business case to be used for investments and prioritization efforts. The incumbent will own the product and work closely with the Product Owner to align solutions to the needs of the customer, the business units, and the technical development teams. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ownership of the products, solutions, and features and their potential impact on the market and the organization as a whole Continuously assess customer needs and represent the voice of the customer, technology trends, and major competitors. Define, refine, manage, and gather documented user requirements from key customers (end customers, product marketing, and business development, etc) for designing new products and services. Develop and maintain strategic product strategy, competitor analysis, roadmap development and maintenance, product lifecycle, and priorities for each of the solutions in the product portfolio. Communicate to internal and external stakeholders. Communicate product collateral, guides, and training for external stakeholders and internal departments in Growth, IT, Marketing, and others to drive new product initiatives, positioning, and collaterals. Write a data-informed business case for new initiatives, including market analysis, impact, milestones, and success metrics, and introduce it to the broader leadership team, Product Council, and key stakeholders. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals; use data collection for analysis and revised action plans. Assume ownership of all product deliverables throughout all phases of the Product Life Cycle. Manage third-party vendors, and partners, along with influencing future product feature planning with strategic partners. Support business development teams (e.g., RFPs) as subject matter expert on key opportunities Leverage leadership best practices and values to provide direction, coaching, regular feedback, and ongoing development with staff members, resulting in high levels of employee engagement and performance. Facilitate cross-functional relationships, ensuring all stakeholder input is considered. Responsible for the designated product portfolio P&L, meet budgetary objectives, and make adjustments as needed. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 8+ years' experience in the field required with a demonstrated track record of product development and management from initial concept, requirements gathering, development/deployment planning, implementation, launch, testing, analysis, iteration, to end-of-life planning. Experience participating in the monetization of solutions that meet market or partner demands Experience with using data to inform change and decision-making Experience successfully operating in a Lean-Agile environment. Ability to lead and drive outcomes through collaborative, cross-functional teams. Proven ability to effectively and often simultaneously communicate at operational, technical, and strategic levels to internal and external customers, including Senior and Executive Leaders. Proven track record of effectively gathering competitive analysis and integrating it as appropriate into strategic planning. Demonstrated ability to work on a team and achieve results in a team environment. Ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving, thoughtful product scoping, and flexibility in a fast-moving environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical skills and detail-oriented. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication, time management, and presentation skills. Proven track record of facilitating cross-departmental issue identification, problem-solving, and resolution. Highly customer-centric, service-oriented with the ability to understand, execute and meet customer's expectations. Full Pay range: Exempt ($69,100 - $86,400 - $103,700) This is the pay range for our staff in this position, from entry to fully independent and proficient in the role utilizing our propriety systems and processes.
