Job Overview
We are accepting resumes for summer internships to work with the Construction Safety Department. You will work out of our I-494 Bloomington office.
Primary Responsibilities
Be a positive, pro-active Safety presence and assist in Field Safety Operations each and every day.
Assist and document Safety inspections and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) on Project sites at frequent intervals.
Attend and assist with Project Safety meetings including but not limited to:
Weekly Tool Box Talks
Daily Take 5 for Safety
Job site Safety committees
Pre-activity meetings
Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of PPE to meet project requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Junior or Senior within a 4-year degree program or in a master's program.
Interest and knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry.
Desire to gain hands-on experience in the office and/or field by shadowing with knowledgeable professionals.
Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks at once.
Demonstrated ability to use software programs including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Flexible schedule for students.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
Knowledge of and compliance with all Company safety requirements, policies, and any required safety training.
