Location Description The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility is 1,120,845 square feet and home to about 470 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits® and 9Lives®. This location has a cannery that produces wet dog food and there is also a Distribution Center on-site. Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, a landmark Town Park with many acres of recreational activities, and has one of the largest and longest running fairs in the country. With so much to do and see, Bloomsburg is a great place to live, work and play! Responsibilities This position is responsible to operate dry packaging line in a safe and efficient manner and ensure quality standards are maintained while attaining efficient line operation and schedule adherence. It is the responsibility of each employee to perform their work in a manner, which will not endanger their own safety and will protect the health and safety of others, and to cooperate and participate in the safety and health programs of the company. NOTE: These requirements describe the main duties of the job, but are not considered a detailed description of every duty that may be assigned or required to be performed. This a 12-hour rotational night shift role with hours of 6:00pm-6:00am. Every other weekend required. Ability to operate all bagging machines, scales, sealers weight checkers, checkers, metal detectors, EDL bundlers, pallet wrappers and palletizers/Capper functions. Understand function and operation of all packaging lines in the area, including the product delivery system. Operator line in a safe and efficient manner to ensure quality standards are maintained while attaining efficient line operation and schedule adherence. Ability to assist in troubleshooting operation deficiencies with bagger, sealing, bundler, and palletizing equipment. Provide high quality finished goods. Ensure all SOP, QA, safety and sanitation procedures are followed. Review and fully understand JSA’s for the area. Must possess basic computer skills. Ability to correctly enter quality data, operating data and machine performance notes into computer files and Parsec Operation Reports. Proper monitoring, documentation and sample collection to meet all quality checks done in the area. Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack. Standing for prolonged periods of time. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Good communication skills. Adherence to all Safety, cGMP, Sanitation and Quality rules and procedures. Must maintain a clean work area and possess the ability to clean pack line equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Manually sequence palletizer when relieving jams. Operate stretch wrap machines and apply pallet cap to finish pallets. Handle wooden pallets. Notify leads & maintenance when breakdowns occur. Assure compliance to all quality standards. Assure compliance to all GMP requirements. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Highschool Diploma or GED Previous Experience: Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Lifting: Up to 50 pounds with regularity.
