Montgomery County Community College Director of Development - Major and Planned Giving in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Director of Development -- Major and Planned Giving position. The Director of Development -- Major and Planned Giving is an integral part of a growing fund raising team.   This position will identify, educate, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gifts above $10,000 and will manage a growing portfolio of qualified prospects through personal meetings and events.  The Director will assist in the planning and execution of campaigns. 

*This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. Location will mainly be at the Blue Bell campus.

This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.**

 

*This position requires a credit history check prior to starting on the first day.**

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • A required minimum of five (5) years of development experience with a demonstrated record of successful major and planned giving fundraising, preferably in higher education.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail.
  • Writing ability as well as excellent oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with mainstream donor management systems, preferably with Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Proficient as a user of office productivity software, preferably MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently, meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to develop relationships with donors/prospects and to work with volunteers.
  • Ability to effectively partner with College staff and Community partners to build donor relationships and foster long-term philanthropic support.
  • Ability to plan daily work and work independently to achieve monthly and yearly performance goals. 
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for donor meetings.
