Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas eCommerce Sr. Listing Specialist in Blue Springs, Missouri

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for selecting donated merchandise to sell online, thoroughly examine each product to determine the correct condition, manufacturer and other pertinent criteria, take detailed, clear and appropriate photos, write concise, appealing and accurate descriptions necessary to list items on the best online platform available to maximize Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas sales and profit margins. This position also includes basic warehouse management duties including staging, and logging in any incoming product and maintaining an organized warehouse flow.

Essential Functions

  • Photographing items to post on-line, ensuring proper lighting, cleanliness and item markings and defects are shown.

  • Assisting with research to verify authenticity, value, age, etc. of posted items.

  • Writing detailed, accurate, creative item descriptions to maximize visibility.

  • Assisting in the selection of products, as needed

  • Posting 30+ items daily to eCommerce website

  • Responsible for logging and staging incoming merchandise, and upkeep of warehouse flow

  • Categorizing items to indicate those listed, vs. those ready for shipment, to ensure accuracy by other team members.

  • Ensuring quick but accurate placement of high-quality merchandise on-line

  • Meeting production numbers as set by divisional management

  • Ensuring loss prevention guidelines are followed

  • Assisting in the packaging/shipping process as needed to meet volume requirements and maintain customer satisfaction

  • Assisting the eBooks department as needed

  • Maintaining the safety, cleanliness and organization of the eCommerce area to help facilitate success of enclave employees.

  • Communicating safety or loss prevention issues to ensure quick resolution

  • All other duties assigned by the eCommerce Assistant Manager

This job operates in a warehouse setting.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a physical role. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills and bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach, and stand as necessary. This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull medium weight up to 50 pounds. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked change in temperature and humidity and exposure to dust.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a non-exempt position. Hours vary based on the needs of the business which includes nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

The E-Commerce Assistant will be a proven leader with the following:

  • 1 Year successful experience listing for Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas, plus a minimum average performance rating of ‘98%’ during the previous 6 month period.

  • Proficiency in Windows and Office environments

  • Knowledge of digital camera use and ability to take high quality digital photos for online listings

  • Strong knowledge of internet research skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, retail experience helpful

  • A valid license, current insurance and good driving record

  • Outstanding research and troubleshooting abilities, including on-line research

  • Proven exceptional writing, grammar and spelling skills

  • Ability to write creative descriptions to capture attention

  • Knowledge of unusual, valuable or collectible merchandise

  • Familiarity with a warehousing and/or shipping environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly

  • Ability to deal with dust and/or mold

  • Tolerant of long periods of time sitting in front of computer monitor
