Newell Brands Demand Planning Category Leader in Bogota, Colombia

This position is responsible for Learning and Development demand planning activities by product Category to deliver the most accurate near and longer- term total forecast as measured by forecast accuracy and attainment. Responsible for development and maintenance of LATAM business process solutions in support of the global demand forecasting business process and various reporting solutions to facilitate demand planning. This role partners with the broader Supply Chain, Country Sales, Sales Planning, Global Brand mgt, GSC, IT and Finance to ensure demand/process alignment at both a tactical and strategic level.

This will be an influential role within the Global Learning and Development Demand Planning organization and will be tasked with managing LATAM Brand/Category strategic Demand, leading LATAM innovation, continuous process improvement projects and step-change performance improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of demand planning activities by product category to deliver the most accurate near and longer- term total forecast as measured by forecast accuracy and attainment.

  • Developing a 2-3 years long range demand plan for comparison against annual business plans and sales forecast updates along with the collaborative processes to gain alignment.

  • Accountable to deliver world-class statistical forecast in collaboration with the central team to enable the customer demand planners to set the most accurate final forecast based on both near and long-term horizons and provide advantaged analytical and statistical insights.

  • Own execution of Brand cross-functional collaboration process with regional/country brand, finance, Supply Chain and trade marketing teams to assess, validate and align our strategic regional demand assumptions.

  • LATAM Innovation lead for Demand planning and lead cross functional alignment with customer team, Global supply chain, regional brand & finance partners.

  • Own performance reporting metrics and lead post performance analysis analytics to determine root cause of performance gaps, provide explanatory insights and predictive insights on performance.

  • Identify quantified risks within the demand plan, review gaps with brand & analytics teams and develop appropriate countermeasures for resolution.

  • Lead the forecasting system and reporting tools to deliver optimal modeling of the business and improve planner productivity by maximizing system functionality.

  • Drive continuous improvement for global demand planning processes and tools across regions, by reviewing current processes, ways of working, gaps and tools, to improve and sustain better metrics such as forecast error, bias, etc.

  • Managing the forecasting system and reporting tools to deliver optimal modeling of the business and improve planner productivity by maximizing system functionality.

  • Act as a LATAM SAP/IBP business process /reporting tool champion and partner with GSC team to drive improvement and solve system related issues.

REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)

  • Successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Management, or related technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience which includes:

  • Experience across multiple aspects of the supply chain with previous roles in forecasting, supply planning and/or inventory management.

  • Expertise in data acquisition, spreadsheet/database development and analysis.

  • Experience in a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) organization or a business-to-business supplier organization preferred.

  • Technical understanding of ERP or bolt-on forecasting systems (SAP APO/ IBP preferred)

  • Successful utilization of Lean principles and tools

  • Bilingual Spanish & English, strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented, strong results orientation and work ethic; able to work independently.

  • Flexibility to support multiple assignments with ability to meet all deadlines.

  • Occasional travel required to Newell locations (USA, Mexico & etc…) as part of Global Category Demand Planning team.
