Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and have significant impact across the lifecycle of a trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. This is a Vice President (VP) role within the Markets Operations Organization. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing, high profile and energized team providing daily support to our Global Traders and Clients.

You will play a pivotal part in helping to support the lifecycle of a trade. Working closely with Business partners, Client’s, and internal stakeholders to ensure all transactions flow through our front to back Operations teams, with no issues.

The Markets Sanctions Operations Sr. Mgr. is responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to complete sanctions screening activities to support lines of business across Markets Operations.

Responsibilities:

Appropriately assess risk when screening sanctions demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Develop and implement business initiatives, client solutions, or projects affiliated with sanctions screening.

  • Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution.

  • Contribute to processing standards and expectations for sanctions screening teams.

  • Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures that offer solutions and cost saving opportunities.

  • Manage daily performance related to sanctions screening activities of operations processes.

  • Propose solutions to sanctions screening improvements, client service enhancements, or overall technology enhancements.

  • Coordinate with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement.

  • Manage Sanctions team of 4 individuals.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

  • 6-10 years of experience in a related senior level role with experience in trade / cash operations and management, including people management experience

  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology.

  • Strong, Influential communicator who is articulate and concise, demonstrated success, interacting with senior management both in the business, corporate functions as well as the Operations, Business and Technology environments.

  • Strong risk management and control mindset

  • Experience in financial planning processes, including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.

  • Self-reliant, good problem solver results oriented.

  • Demonstrated experience leading people and developing effective and diverse teams across a global footprint.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

The core responsibilities of the role would also cover the following:

  • Overseeing and leading daily core operations maintaining a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis as well as acting as a senior point of escalation.

  • Developing an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance, Regulatory requirements; delivery of periodic presentations to external regulators as required.

  • Ensuring the infrastructure and tools are in place to effectively manage risk and service our clients to a high standard.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Acting as key point of contact for the front to back Operations groups across internal and external stakeholders

  • Continued engagement and face off with a range of senior Business, Technology and Operations partners.

  • Supports and partners with the Business to facilitate a growing and expanding client base / operational offering.

  • Implementing a successful People and Engagement strategy to help attract, develop, retain and recognize a diverse and talented global workforce.

  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and cultivating a robust service and control environment

  • Engaging with and leading our People. Developing effective and diverse teams across a global footprint.
