BASIC FUNCTION
Manage a 3-person Accounting Department. Process and audit financial records and payments. Resolves complex accounting problems. Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal Accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the firm. Work with our next generation of executive leadership to recommend and implment best practices for A/E/C firms.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following banking and accounting functions:
Coach and mentor Accounting staff
Process weekly payroll
Monitor cash credits and disbursements.
Create quarterly Trial Balance, General Ledger reports and back-up for Accountant & coordinate with accountant. Reconcile monthly Trial Balance and GL.
Review Transaction Posting logs and Annual Budget
Reconcile checking and loan statements for accuracy
Run revenue generation process. Review Project & Task Revenue, Billing & Budgets
Create and file quarterly/annually Federal & State, unemployment and industrial insurances
Reconcile Cafeteria Plan deductions to invoices
Process semi-annual payroll raises and shareholders payments
Monitor corporate budgets monthly and modify annual budget as necessary
Prepare income statement
Submit and reconcile Federal & State payroll taxes was required
Assist Marketing with Billing and Cost rates
Review GL expenses for AASHTO compliance
Renew and Apply for state/city licenses
Complete bank deposits using remote deposit
Review, approve, and post weekly timesheets for payroll
Provide monthly Collateral Schedule and current AR
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree, Accounting
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum seven years accounting experience, two years management experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Nice to have:
Experience with an ERP system
Comprehensive knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software
MS Office
Experience in professional services firm
Project Accounting experience
Strong ability to effectively communicate technical information to all types of people, both verbally and in writing; multitask and coordinate confusing and often conflicting priorities; strong communication, decision-making, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. Leadership and organizational skills
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
