AHRC Suffolk Assistant Director of Weekend Residential Services in Bohemia, New York

Role Summary: The Assistant Director of Weekend Residential Services with the Support of the Director of Residential is responsible for weekend oversite of medical planning, fire safety planning, staff scheduling and program hours. They will act as the lead weekend direct support professional staff scheduling, following compliance with the rules of the operation of AHRC Suffolk Residential program.

Role Responsibilities:  Manages the daily operations of the AHRC houses during weekend shifts.  Coordinates and reallocates weekend staff according to the needs of the programs.  Monitors implementation of program policies and practices.  Oversees the functions and activities of the Weekend Direct Support staff.  Prepares emergency schedules on the weekend shifts in the event of an emergency to ensure adequate facility coverage.  Covers other residences when emergency needs present themself.  Ensures all facilities are clean, safe, and meet agency requirements.  Prepares weekend reports for program leaders.  Reviews overnight data collection to ensure chores and assignments are completed.  Serves as Agency Designated Supervisor providing oversight and support to the weekend shifts if the House Manager is not on duty.  Participate in training seminars conducted to enhance and develop one's skills.  Participates in all DSP-level responsibilities as needed.  Coordinates fire safety training, call in training, and conduct fire drills according to OPWDD safety procedure.  Ensures program goals and plans are implemented by Residential staff on the weekends.  Ensures staffing minimums are met through management of staff schedule with Residential Managers.  Notifies the Director and/or Assistant Director of Residential Services and the Residential Nurse of any medical emergency.  Works with the AOC supervisor in meeting the weekend needs and concerns.

SALARY 80,000-90,000 Yearly

Hours: Friday 2pm-10pm, Saturday & Sunday 8am-10pm

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or related field preferred

 3+ year residential management experience

 OPWDD management experience preferred

 Current working knowledge of OPWDD regulations; applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

 Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications

 Must be able to display a high level of professionalism and discretion and understand the sensitive nature of confidential employee information with superior emotional intelligence.

 Ability to be on-call 24/7 on a rotating basis.
