The Facilities UPW / Wastewater Services Manager at Micron is responsible for managing a team that maintains and operates the UPW, water, ground water, wastewater, and reclaim systems that directly and indirectly support the ID1 high volume manufacturing site. As the ID1 Facilities UPW / Wastewater Manager, you will be overseeing the engineering team responsible for sustaining operations, base build & equipment installations. Team provides design engineering support for existing system modification, upgrades and new equipment installations across high volume manufacturing and technology development sites. The UPW / Wastewater Services Manager will also initially manage the operations and maintenance activities and be responsible for any outsourced services.

Area Performance:

  • Oversees the maintenance and operations of all site UPW, water, ground water, wastewater and reclaim systems

  • Ensures the reliability of all site UPW, water, ground water, wastewater and reclaim systems

  • Works closely with customers to ensure daily operations, maintenance and foreseeable equipment failures don’t affect production

  • Manages department financial budgeting, forecasting, and expenditures for water systems maintenance and projects

  • Provides design input on system changes and expansions

  • Ensures the proper installation and startup of new equipment including commissioning for projects

  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their impact on existing UPW, water, ground water and wastewater systems

  • Uses an advanced CMMS system to manage maintenance and equipment reliability, track labor utilization, and ensure PMs are completed on-time

  • Establishes standards and policies for servicing, solving, repairing, testing, operating, and inspecting Facilities systems and components

  • Facilitates regular studies on redundancy, spare parts need, and PM effectiveness to increase reliability and reduce spend

  • Reviews trends and finds opportunities to reduce utility usage (sewer and water)

  • Coordinates the review of near miss/impact events and drives resolution to long-term solutions

  • Develops long term strategies by supervising mature processes (SPC) and quantifying equipment “end of life” data

Successful Candidates must have the following Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of facilities chemical, UPW and water systems

  • Knowledge of state/city/federal requirements and policies for water and wastewater systems

  • Demonstrated success in previous leadership positions

  • Demonstrated knowledge of various scheduling processes internal and external to Facilities

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Proven ability to drive multiple complex projects to completion

  • Proven ability to accurately analyze and interpret data to make data-driven decisions

  • Strong conflict management and negotiation skills

  • Proven ability to develop and coach team members

  • Proven ability to mentor and successfully manage the performance of direct and eventual reports

  • Demonstrated ability to partner successfully with other groups and build strong peer relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and promote technical expertise

  • Proven track record to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success/failure

  • Proven track record to identify, understand, and mitigate risk before making critical decisions

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering or relevant field or equivalent education and 4 years of facilities experience

  • 4 years of leadership experience

  • Experience in semiconductor front end or backend manufacturing preferred
