Job Summary and Description:
Looking for experienced Wastewater Engineers to be a part of the design, construction, commissioning, and sustaining operations for our new innovative manufacturing fab and existing technology development fab in Boise, ID.
The Facilities Wastewater Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with parallel engineering subject areas, to analyze operational efficiency activities, identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements and provide design input on projects. This posting requires design, operation, and troubleshooting of state-of-the-art semiconductor process wastewater treatment, waste water reclaim, and zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment plants.
This position works directly with the operations team and technicians monitoring systems parameters via intelligent systems such as SPC/IOT and SCADA, ensuring they are running within specifications. This posting requires a hard work ethic and diligent attention to detail. The Facilities Wastewater Engineer must have the pertinent communication skills that enable the coordination with other system owners, maintenance crews and construction trades to drive projects and daily tasks. Will be responsible for working with the vendors to develop operations and maintenance documentation, collaborate with vendors providing services, engineering for projects and changes and ensuring systems are operating within specifications. Provides design engineering support for existing system modification, upgrades and new equipment installations.
Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning of Waste Water treatment systems including:
Review of vendor provided design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy
Review of equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.
Validation of engineering calculations
Review and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staff
Review and validation of construction RFI responses
Review and approval of shop drawings and construction models
Field engineering QA during construction
Commissioning support
Entry of system information into a capacity planning software
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality:
Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
Applies and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety
Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with collaborators
Actively participates in the EHS problems by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems
Always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designation
Proactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment
Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savings
Operates and maintains equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Ensures area-specific procedures and documents exist and submits updates to content when needed
Understands and enforces hazardous energy isolation and lockout/tagout procedures
Partners with site PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) to assess risk and replacement of end of life equipment items
Partners with site PSM team for management of Facilities equipment
Communication & Collaboration:
Ensures appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing team members
Partners with key collaborators to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics
Collaborates with global teams and partners to resolve equipment/process issues and improve system stability
Communicates proactively with leaders and customers on the daily priorities and issues
Attends and participates in meetings and provides relevant technical recommendations
Partners with area leaders and customers to gather input for area improvement
Communicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change control
Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation
Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves
Coordinates with team members and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates
Broadens cross-disciplinary knowledge through new assignments
Listens to customer feedback, recognizes opportunities and provides opportunities for technical innovation
Exchanges sophisticated information with colleagues and managers
Provides advice and guidance to less experienced team members
Project Management/Planning:
Applies a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and manage projects
Works closely with Design and Projects teams to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule and budget
Tracks actions and provides the path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time
Collaborates with partners on the design and coordination of projects
Coordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up actions
Provides support for the installation or commissioning of new facilities infrastructure
Provides support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
Reviews design packages ensuring specifications are met and cost reduction improvements are identified
Supports equipment startup and commissioning
Coordinates and leads cost reduction projects
Collaborates on lessons learned to improve and prevent future problems
Qualifications:
Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills
Proven skills in working effectively with team members from different fields
Demonstrated ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to follow sophisticated procedures, and work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency
Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences
Demonstrated knowledge of safety codes and regulations
Education and Experience:
Required: Minimum – Relevant Bachelor’s degree or experience; Chemical, or Environmental engineering, Chemistry, or related field of study
Required: Three or more years of relative experience
Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering and/or your discipline specific Professional Engineer certification
Preferred: Three or more years of Facilities/Plant Operations experience in semiconductor manufacturing
