Description

The mission of the Idaho Industrial Commission is to fairly administer the Idaho Workers' Compensation Law.

The Benefits Support position reports to the Benefits Administration Manager. In addition to providing support to the department manager, this position also supports six (6) analysts assigned to the Benefits Administration Department and the Claims and Records sections.

This position will perform a wide variety of clerical support functions; apply detailed program knowledge in developing and/or maintaining program records systems and/or in collecting information, preparing reports and providing liaison between management, other organizational units, and external customers; perform related work.

    Example of Duties:

This position operates independently to:

  • Correspond with attorneys, sureties, adjusters, and employers to provide guidance on possible non-compliance with rules, evaluate responses, maintain response statistics, and recommend enforcement action to the Benefits Administration Manager

  • Prepare settlement package for analyst review

  • Administrative support to CIWCS, EDI workshops, employer education, and medical program education programs, attendee registration, certificates, and correspondence

  • Process incoming Paper FROIs, determine employer coverage, request filing from claims administrator, and track claim filing

  • Prepare medical fee disputes for analyst review

  • Review incoming email and postal correspondence, respond or forward to an Analyst or to the Benefits Administration Manager as necessary

  • Department staff meeting minutes

  • Order department supplies and maintain a record of request forms (101)

  • Pamphlets/flyers maintenance

  • Prepare ISIF $10K invoices

  • Respond to SSA requests

This position provides back up for agency reception desk, mail, file room, and claims section functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good knowledge of: office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents, reception, gathering and compiling data, and balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.

Experience: independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting; reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness; problem solving and conflict resolution; communicating and writing at a professional level.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Awareness of the programs and departments administered by the Industrial Commission.

  • Ability to answer a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette.

  • Ability to obtain detailed information from customers in a business setting.

  • Customer service skills and the ability to explain policies, procedures, or rules in a professional manner.
