We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through engagement with Key accounts in North America, EMEA, and South America. This role will drive growth through existing Key account partners, distributor management, and new strategic accounts.
As a leader within the sales team, this role will be expected to lead the account management and sales strategy for existing and new accounts, making strategic choices consistent with the Simms brand and long-range distribution plan objectives, delivering results, and providing strong leadership.
This position reports to the Sr. Director, US Sporting Goods & Lifestyle and allows you the flexibility to work from your home office.
As the Key Account Manager, you will have an opportunity to:
Drive growth in sales revenue, within agreed upon expense budget, and customer engagement through consistent application of a key account management process, metrics & tools including account plans, quarterly business reviews, category management, etc.
Leverage North American National Account Strategy to grow International Key accounts.
Build and manage strategic Sales Calendars to meet the needs and deadlines of National and International Key Accounts.
Identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities through an understanding of the Key Account culture & key decision makers, both Nationally and Internationally.
Develop professional credibility and position Simms as a strategic partner with senior-level decision makers and influencers across all categories.
Lift Key Account sales performance through leveraging in-house account strategy with Sales Reps managing non-in-house Key Accounts.
Direct and help perform voice-of-the-customer research to define and assess segment opportunities.
Work with appropriate channel partners and cross-departmentally to develop strategies that align Simms values with Key Account customer needs and opportunities.
Liaison with Product Line Managers on key segment needs and product innovation opportunities.
Assess, identify, and keep ahead of competitive tactics, potential threats, and emerging distribution opportunities.
Manage direct deports relative to goals, objectives, strategies, and professional development via current Human Resources tools and assets.
Work closely with the Marketing Team to develop and provide key brand assets to Key Accounts.
You have these qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an account manager, outdoor apparel or fishing brand experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to analyze account specific needs to develop and implement a strategic plan and to grow business.
Experienced and confident public speaker with strong in-person presentation skills.
Ability to develop and manage relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and negotiating skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication.
Must be highly motivated and results oriented with the ability to work independently and in a team environment with ability to easily adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes.
Strong PC skills/aptitude. Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Overnight travel, national and international, up to 30%.
