Micron Technology, Inc. Lead Principal Engineer – CVD/DIF DRAM in Boise, Idaho

As a CVD-DIF DRAM Process Development Lead, you will be responsible for developing and driving roadmap for Films Technology Solutions for N+1 and N+2 generations of DRAM. The PD team is responsible for critically evaluating new thin films processes and equipment technology and make recommendations on manufacturing tool selections to RnD management. As the Lead, you will understand the module level patterning requirements by partnering with other development and integration teams and setting a strategy for films development by engaging with internal and external (equipment suppliers and others) partners. You will work closely with the other Process Development teams (films, dry etch, etc), Process Integration, Adv Technology development and Operations teams to develop and integrate robust equipment and process technologies. You will be expected to actively participate and contribute to RnD Roadmap Business Processes and be aware of progresses in general academic and internal scientific research in thin films process technology. Additionally, you will train and career development for the members of your team and maintaining a safe environment by ensuring safety policy is followed for new processes, equipment, and personnel.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading efforts and setting the strategy for developing thin films material, equipment and process technology for the variety of current and future memory products

  • Providing day-to-day project management and technical advice for your team.

  • Guide, implement and complete multiple and competitive Technology Evaluations Projects in parallel, by maintaining rigorous scorecards and decision matrices, meeting Micron product quality and timeline requirements

  • Make recommendations for vendor equipment technology evaluations projects, based on technical and commercial assessment from concept to final manufacturing introduction and enablement.

  • Identifying technology roadmap gaps and kick off equipment, processes, chemicals and materials exploration projects internally or with external partners (Concept and Feasibility phase for Evaluation).

  • Communicating effectively the Films Roadmap with R&D Executive Management and Process Integration teams

  • Partnering with equipment and chemical suppliers to ensure Roadmap alignment and timely execution of Joint Development Projects to meet Micron timelines.

  • Providing regular feedback on performance, developing a career plan and mentoring your team members to support their professional development, through Micron’s performance planning and appraisal process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in an Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry or similar related field. Bachelors + extensive proven experience may be considered as substitute for graduate degree.

  • General understanding of DRAM memory devices and cell function and critical thin films challenges.

  • At least five years of process development experience at Micron or equivalent experience at another company

  • Consistent record to lead successful projects.

  • Proven track record to form constructive relationships with partners and customers.

  • Proven track record to be independent driver for results and solutions

  • Proven problem solving capabilities using structured and data driven approach.

  • Basic understanding of structural modeling

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to mentor and be responsible for the performance of direct reports.

  • Shown team-building skills, the ability to delegate, empower, and assist direct reports in reaching their goals and ability to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success/failure.
