Organization Background:

Mission43 is an initiative of the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation that serves military members, veterans, and their spouses in the areas of education, employment, and engagement. Mission43 believes that after choosing to serve, military community members deserve access to the best resources available. Since 2016, Mission43 has helped thousands of veterans, and their spouses advance to a better quality of life in Idaho after the military.

Position Objective:

On average, Mission43 delivers a personally engaging experience to more than 5,000 unique attendees per year. Mission43 engagement activities are highly diverse: In any given month, Mission43 events can include social networking events, multi-day backpacking trips, military spouse specific self-defense courses, and a range of volunteer events.

An ideal Engagement Project Coordinator is an energetic and self-motivated individual with a high degree of military cultural competency who is unafraid to get their hands dirty and break a sweat setting up and teardown events.

Candidates must be comfortable in professional settings, indoor/outdoor event venues, happy hour environments, and gyms. An ideal candidate is capable of assisting in planning unique engagement events AND setting up and cleaning up events at various times throughout the week and on weekends. And has a variety of event related work experience or willingness to learn, adapt, find solutions, and put in a physical days work while maintaining an authentic Team/Mission First attitude.

Essential Functions and Core Responsibilities:

  • Directly supports the Engagement Director and Engagement Program Coordinator in managing project activities from set up to clean up.
  • Exceptional oral communication with internal audiences and external clients/stakeholders
  • Serves as point of contact for members seeking engagement opportunities, identifying and addressing needs through internal programming and external resources
  • Serves as an Alumni Coordinator for the Mission43 Leaders Fellowship program
  • Engages member of a small team that is supportive of each others work
  • Develops and maintains exceptional knowledge of Mission43 Employment and Education services, as well as program culture and intent of the Idaho Outdoor Fieldhouse and Challenged Athletes Foundation-Idaho.
  • Attends Mission43 education, employment, and engagement events as outlined on the shared calendar to develop and maintain relationships with membership base, Leaders Fellows, and community partners
  • Maintains, manages, and grows current database of members that have selected engagement as an interest area
  • Assists in analyzing data, preparing reports, and assisting in strategic planning of engagement events, activities and programs
  • Ability to take direction, work independently, prioritize and plan, use time efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Promotes a high satisfaction level of service delivery across all role expectations
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of operations
  • Other related duties as assigned by Engagement Directorand Program Officer

Educational / Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years working with military personnel and/or military spouses in social, athletic, or outdoor recreation environments
  • Outdoor recreation and/or competitive athletics experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Salesforce or willingness to learn. Ability to learn and administer new technology.
  • Military cultural competency
  • Preference given to military/veterans and military/veteran spouses
  • V lid Drivers License and successfully complete a background verification.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This position operates in varied environments, from office settings to austere backcountry areas. Willingness and ability to travel throughout the State of Idaho is essential. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, typing, bending, kneeling, sitting, hiking, walking, running, and lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to regularly move items up to 50 pounds. This position requires the ability (or capacity to learn) to safely and efficiently connect a truck and enclosed trailer, as well as safely and efficiently moving truck and trailer throughout the State of Idaho.
