We serve patients in three primary care clinics, a 25-bed critical-access hospital, and in anUrgent Care and Emergency Department. It is who we are.Job Description: The Exercise Physiologist focuses primarily on implementing and supervising the physical exercise programs for diseased and healthy populations. Major Responsibilities: Effectively performs specified assessment preceding, during and after exercise, and initiates appropriate intervention to maintain safety of patient. Directs patients in the performance of prescribed exercise while at the facility and instructs patients in home exercise. Communicates the program philosophy and goals of the exercise program to patients and assists patients in establishing appropriate goals of rehabilitation. Implements appropriate teaching/counseling for patient and family members. Communicates effectively with team members to provide quality patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of various interventions and charts progress at appropriate intervals. Obtains appropriate physician referrals, patient information and assesses various referrals to Exercise Physiology. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance. Personally interacts, engages with and cares for patients. Ensures patient safety. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested. Works in the Cardiopulmonary Rehab department and is responsible for recording and monitoring patient vitals and physiological response to treatment.
